About
ControlMap Copilot (Beta) is the built-in AI assistant. It opens in a panel on the right side of the page, knows which page you are on, and offers ready-made starting points for that page, such as summarizing compliance health or finding missing documents. Copilot asks before making changes.
Open Copilot
You can open Copilot in two ways:
- Select the sparkle button at the far right of the top bar (Open Copilot Beta). The panel opens for the page you are on and stays open as you move between pages.
- Select Copilot in the toolbar of a page, then pick one of the actions in the menu. The panel opens and starts that action in a new conversation.
The first time you open the panel, a welcome screen appears. Select Continue to go on.
When the panel opens, the start screen shows What would you like to do?, a Context label for the page you are on, and a card for each starting point:
To close the panel, select the X in its header or press Esc.
Start from the Copilot menu on a page
The Copilot menu offers actions that fit the page you are on. If the button is greyed out, Copilot is busy answering or the page is still loading.
Dashboard
Select Copilot at the top right of the Dashboard to see these actions:
- Summarize compliance health
- Summarize weekly priorities
- Analyze top risks
Objectives
On the By Objectives tab, select Copilot in the page header to see these actions:
- Find missing documents
- Find missing evidence
- Summarize framework health
On the By Questions tab, the menu offers Summarize assessment progress.
Documents
On the Documents page, Copilot sits in the toolbar next to Display and Actions. Its action depends on the tab you are on:
- Policies: Create policy
- Procedures: Create procedure
- Governance: Create governance document
The panel opens with the message box ready for you to enter the name of the document.
Chat with Copilot
To ask Copilot a question about the page you are on:
- Open the panel with the sparkle button in the top bar.
- Select a starting point card, or type in the message box (Ask Copilot about your compliance program…) and send your message.
- Read the reply. Select Helpful or Unhelpful under a reply to give feedback.
Once you send your first message, the starting point cards give way to the conversation. Copilot uses the page you are on as context for your request.
These buttons in the panel header help you manage conversations:
- New conversation: clears the chat and starts a new one.
- History: lists your past conversations so you can reopen one.
- Full screen: widens the panel.
The Credits Used bar under the header shows how many credits you have used.
