About
The PSA & RMM (Using ScalePad) integration brings your ScalePad Lifecycle Manager clients, their devices and their warranty data into ControlMap. You sign in once with your ScalePad login, and ControlMap fetches the companies and assets for you, with no API key to create or paste.
This gives you an up-to-date device inventory for your compliance work without entering it by hand. Each company it finds is added to ControlMap as a prospect, and its assets and compliance checks appear in that client's portal once you activate the client. ControlMap runs three automated compliance checks on the data:
- Assets have active and valid warranty.
- Create and maintain an asset inventory.
- Assets have active and up to date antivirus installed.
Before you start
You need:
- To be signed in to ControlMap through your ScalePad login. The integration uses that sign-in to reach your ScalePad data, so there are no credentials to enter.
Connect PSA & RMM (Using ScalePad)
If your account was created through ScalePad, this connection may already exist and appear in your Integrations list with a weekly schedule set. Otherwise, connect it yourself:
- In the MSP portal, go to Integrations and select Integration.
- Under Asset Management, find the PSA & RMM (Using ScalePad) card and select Connect. The card says Connected when the connection already exists.
- The connection is created as soon as you select Connect. There are no fields to fill in, and the setup moves straight to the Schedule step.
- Choose the Day of the week and the Time of the day for the weekly scan.
- Select Save & Scan Now to save and scan straight away, or Save Schedule to wait for the scheduled time. When the "Schedule saved successfully" message appears, select Got It.
The first scan typically takes a few minutes before companies and assets start to show up.
What you'll see after connecting
Go to Integrations. The list shows the connection as ScalePad-Integration, with its Connection status, its weekly schedule, the date of the last scan and the scan's status.
Select the connection's name to open it. The page has these tabs:
- Compliance Checks: the result of each of the three checks. The tiles Passed, Failed and Error count the results, and each check has a toggle to turn it on or off.
- Companies: the ScalePad clients that were found, with their Company, Status, Last Update and Identifier. Use Search Company to find one.
- Assets: the devices that were found, with their Client Name, Asset Name, Identifier, Region, Status, Last Updated and Last Seen. Select Additional Information on a row to see the full record from the source system.
- Help: guidance for the integration.
- Connection: the connection's status. There are no settings to edit.
- Schedule: when scans run.
Each company that ControlMap finds becomes a prospect. To start working with one, activate it with Activate Tenant or merge it into an existing client. Once a client is active, its assets and checks appear in that client's portal under Monitor as a connection with a Partner badge. The client can see it but can't edit it. The checks also count as automatically collected evidence for that client's framework objectives.
Run a scan or change the schedule
- To scan now, open the connection and select Run Once. A message says the scan is scheduled to start in the next few minutes, and the label changes from Not Running to Running.
- To change when scans run, open the connection, select the Schedule tab, choose a new Day of the week and Time of the day, then select Save Schedule or Save & Scan Now.
Scans run weekly. If your MSP subscribes to Backup Radar and has no Backup Radar integration yet, ControlMap sets one up and runs it automatically after a PSA & RMM scan.
Disconnect or change settings
The PSA & RMM (Using ScalePad) connection has no bin icon on its row in the Integrations list, so it can't be deleted from there. Its Connection tab has no fields, so the only setting you can change is the schedule.
