About

ControlMap has three plans: Free, Essentials and Pro. Free and Essentials cover the basics of managing compliance for a client, and Pro includes everything else in the left menu. The plan is set per client, and an MSP user upgrades it.

Pro features

These pages are Pro features:

  • Trust Center
  • Audits
  • Vendors
  • Controls
  • My Compliance

On Free and Essentials, each one stays in the left menu. When you open it, the page says "<Feature> is a Pro feature." and shows an Upgrade to Pro button.

Limits on the Free plan

On the Free plan:

  • You can have 1 user. You can't invite people from outside the tenant, including by sharing assessment questions.
  • You can have up to 10 each of risks, policies, procedures, governance documents, evidence and action items. When a list reaches the limit, a banner offers an upgrade to Essentials or Pro.
  • On a risk, you can edit only the name, ID and status.
  • Bulk Export and bulk Delete are locked on Risks, Documents, Evidence and Action Items.

Upgrade a client's plan

To move a client from Free or Essentials to a higher plan:

  1. In the client portal, select the upgrade prompt, such as Upgrade to Pro on a Pro feature page.
  2. An MSP user completes the upgrade. If you aren't an MSP user, ask one to do it.
  3. If the MSP has no licence available, the prompt opens billing, where an MSP user can add a licence.
Your work carries over when you move up a plan.
