If a vendor has answered all questions in a risk assessment but it still appears under Overdue, the vendor likely didn't click Complete Assessment. ControlMap doesn't automatically complete an assessment when all questions are answered. Instead, the vendor must click Complete Assessment in the vendor portal, or you must set the Status to Complete in ControlMap. If the End Date passes first, ControlMap moves the assessment to Overdue.
Follow the steps below to check the assessment status and resolve the issue.
Who can use this feature?
Super Admins and Compliance Managers
Check the assessment status
Navigate to Risks > Vendors > List and select the vendor.
Open the Risk Assessment tab.
Locate the overdue assessment and open it.
Check the Status dropdown.
If the Status isn't set to Complete, ControlMap treats the assessment as still in progress.
Resolve the overdue assessment
If all vendor responses are present and no additional evidence is needed:
Open the overdue assessment.
Set the Status dropdown to Complete.
The assessment moves from Overdue to Completed.
If additional information is still needed (for example, missing evidence or notes), complete the remaining items directly in ControlMap and then set the Status to Complete.
Prevent this in the future
ControlMap requires an explicit completion step because vendors may need to add notes or upload evidence beyond answering questions. We recommend updating the instructions you share with vendors to include this step:
"After answering all questions and uploading any requested evidence, click Complete Assessment to submit your responses."
You can also periodically review your Overdue assessments to check whether vendors answered all questions but didn't click Complete Assessment. In those cases, manually set the Status to Complete.
If a vendor confirms they clicked Complete Assessment but the status didn't change, reach out to our support team by submitting a ticket so we can investigate.
