When you create a new tenant and select a framework, ControlMap automatically populates the evidence library with the evidence items associated with that framework.
However, you might notice evidence is missing or incomplete if:
Evidence items were deleted from the library.
A second framework was added after the initial tenant setup.
The tenant was created before evidence auto-population was available.
In these cases, you can repopulate the built-in evidence by adding the ControlMap Baseline Controls control set with the Include Evidence option selected.

Add ControlMap Baseline Controls with evidence included
To populate the built-in evidence items and link them to your framework objectives:
Navigate to Controls.
Click Import Pre-loaded Control Sets.
Locate ControlMap Baseline Controls and select the Include Evidence checkbox.
Click Import.
Once imported, the built-in evidence items populate your evidence library and automatically link to the relevant objectives across your active frameworks.
Note: This imports evidence items that span multiple frameworks, not only the one you're working in. To view only the evidence associated with a specific framework, navigate to Frameworks > [Your framework] > Evidence.
Evidence from integrations
If you're expecting evidence from a connected integration (such as Azure AD, Intune, or another third-party system), that type of evidence doesn't appear in the main evidence library. Integration-based evidence appears under Monitoring > Systems and links directly to the relevant framework objectives.
To view integration-based evidence for a specific objective, open the objective in your framework and check the Evidence tab.
ControlMap Copilot and missing evidence
ControlMap Copilot can help identify evidence gaps by using the Find missing evidence prompt from within a framework. However, Copilot doesn't bulk-import or auto-generate evidence items. To populate the built-in evidence library, follow the steps in the section above.
