GovCloud - Integrating with ScalePad Lifecycle Manager

This article applies only to GovCloud tenants. GovCloud regions don't have native access to ScalePad Lifecycle Manager the way commercial regions do, so ControlMap in GovCloud connects to Lifecycle Manager through this dedicated integration. If your ControlMap tenant is in a commercial region, Lifecycle Manager data already flows in automatically through the built-in ScalePad integration and you don't need this.

About this integration

The Lifecycle Manager integration brings your ScalePad Lifecycle Manager asset data into ControlMap and turns it into automatically collected compliance evidence. Once connected, ControlMap regularly pulls your companies and their assets from Lifecycle Manager and checks them against a set of compliance requirements — asset warranty, asset inventory, and antivirus — so the results are always ready for your clients' frameworks and audits.

This integration is for ControlMap in GovCloud. In commercial regions, Lifecycle Manager data already flows into ControlMap through the built-in ScalePad integration. GovCloud partners sign in to the MSP portal directly rather than through the ScalePad hub, so this integration connects to Lifecycle Manager with a ScalePad API key instead.

Connecting the integration

Open the MSP portal, go to Integrations, and select Lifecycle Manager. On the Connection tab, enter your ScalePad Lifecycle Manager API key and select Update Connection. When the key is valid, ControlMap confirms "Successfully connected to Lifecycle Manager."

Once connected, Lifecycle Manager appears in your Integrations list with a Connected status and its scan schedule.

Compliance checks

On a weekly schedule, ControlMap runs three compliance checks against the asset data it collects from Lifecycle Manager:

  • Assets have active and valid warranty.
  • Create and maintain an asset inventory.
  • Assets have active and up to date antivirus installed.

The Compliance Checks tab shows how many assets pass each check and lets you enable or disable individual checks. Select a scan result to view historical scans and the evidence collected during each scan.

Companies and assets

The Companies tab lists the companies synced from Lifecycle Manager, with each company's status, when it was last updated, and its identifier.

The Assets tab lists the individual assets, with the client they belong to, the asset name, its region, the pass/fail result of the checks, and when it was last updated and last seen. A Historical Asset Count chart at the top shows how the number of collected assets changes over time.

Scheduling scans

Scans run weekly. On the Schedule tab you can set the day of the week and time of day for the scan. At the scheduled time, ControlMap starts a scan and refreshes your companies and assets from the connection. You can also run a scan immediately with Save & Scan Now.

Evidence in the client portal

In each client's portal, the results become automatically collected evidence. Under Monitoring, open Systems to see the Automatically Collected Evidence list. Each item shows the check it came from, the Lifecycle Manager integration it belongs to, its pass/fail status, and the framework objectives it supports — so the evidence is attached to the right objectives without anyone adding it by hand.

Select an evidence item to see its scan history and its evidence reports. ControlMap generates a dated PDF evidence report for each scan, which you can download for an audit.
